About Microneedling.

Microneedling is a minimally invasive and great alternative treatment for men and women seeking to reduce the signs of aging and looking for a brighter and fresher look.

With the use of a professional medical device called “microneedling pen,” we are able to cause “micro-injuries” under the skin causing very minimal discomfort to the patient. The purpose of causing these micro-injuries to your body is to stimulate your skin’s natural healing process. When your skin is punctured your body responds by producing collagen and elastin allowing your body to heal from the inside out and produce healthy and new skin. This process is well-known for reducing the visibility of acne scars, fine lines, and wrinkles, diminishing hyper-pigmentation, and improving skin’s overall tone and texture.

Microneedling can also be performed on different parts of our bodies and it’s proven to be very effective when treating different skin issues including, scars, stretch marks, and wounds.

RECOVERY TIME.

With microneedling, we can expect very minimum downtime, and you can resume most normal activities immediately, since we are causing “micro-injuries” under the skin it is normal and expected to experience redness, minor bruising, and some swelling within the first 24-48 hours.

RESULTS.

For optimal microneedling results, we recommend 3-6 treatments, four weeks apart (depending on the area treated and patient goals). The process of collagen production begins 5 days following each treatment and continues slowly over time, reaching its peak about twelve weeks post-treatment.

SIDE EFFECTS.

The most common microneedling side effects are swelling, redness, and skin flaking, which can last for a few days. Most people can return to wearing regular makeup within a day of treatment. The use of sunscreen is recommended following the microneedling session since the treated area will be more sensitive to the sun.

MAINTENANCE.

Once maximum results have been reached, maintenance treatments may be anywhere between six to twelve months apart.
